Short Hair Chignon
as requested… here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to do the pretty little chignon* (best for short to mid-length hair) i was sporting in this outfit post. i told you it was super easy! (;
for gals with straight hair: before you start with the updo, it would be better if you curl the ends of your hair first to add more volume and texture. since my hair’s already wavy and quite thick i just went ahead and skipped that part.
enjoy! ♥

haha i did, and yes i forgot to link to them in this post. but i never claimed to have invented the hairstyle. in fact before i did this video i directed everyone (people who asked on lookbook.nu, etc.) to the original vid on youtube. (: but thanks, i corrected that now.

I LOVE THIS but can you do this hairstyle with long hair? can u like tie ur remaining hair at the back into a bun and still achieve the same hairstyle?
February 21, 2012 at 1:08 pm
i suppose you can! this particular hairstyle is really meant for shorter lengths because the “tucking in” part helps with the short strands…unlike usual chignons or buns that generally require a good hair length to work. but you can just play around with it, really! x
