A Holiday Catch Up + Bits I’m Loving
hello and happy holidays, folks!
boy it’s been a while. how have you been? it feels like forever since i did a proper outfit post on here–and i suppose it has been that long. i’ve missed it! i thought it apt to share some photos of this look i wore a few weeks back. ‘tis the season to wear ALLLL the plaid, no?
the holidays have been kicking my butt, i must say. typically, i would’ve already bought and wrapped all my presents this time of the month, but i am running waaay behind this year. all my sorting and packing for #BU18 has dragged on and on, plus i’m making tons of preparations for my mom and sister’s visit to MNL in a few days. i’ve not seen them in over a decade—since they migrated to canada—so you can imagine my excitement!
to top it all off, i’m also running around doing preps for our [very small] upcoming wedding.
oh yeah—i never mentioned it on the blog, so in case you hadn’t heard: i got engaged a few months ago! i shared a couple of photos on instagram with my ring, which i absolutely adore. ♥
i’ve never been much of a jewelry person tbh, but adding this lovely ring to my rather humble collection seems to have ignited a newfound interest in fine jewelry. so much so, in fact, that i almost exclusively get only jewelry-related ads online now. it’s pretty hilarious.
what i’ve come to find though is that the online jewelry market is surprisingly saturated these days. it’s a bit tricky to find a source that offers high-quality goods in a wide range of options, without leaving you poor as a pauper.
the pieces above are some of my favorite little bits from jewelry retailer AUrate, which is based in the US (but they ship worldwide). they have the cutest minimalist pieces, as well as flashier ones with sparkly diamonds and other precious stones. just look at that opal ring! *heart eyes*
and guys, i am OBSESSED with their necklaces, which run the gamut from simple and understated to super fun and blingy. most pieces they carry are also offered in various size options, materials (gold vermeil or solid gold), and colors, so there is literally something for everybody.
these are honestly some of the prettiest bits of jewelry i’ve found online, and they make for the BEST gifts—for others or yourself.
as i’ve gotten older, i notice i’ve begun to develop a huge appreciation–even preference–for items that are truly special and stand the test of time. jewelry is certainly one of them, and i’m excited to build on my collection for years to come.
are any of you big on jewelry? what are the best ones you’ve invested in so far? i’d love to know!
