plaid to work
i know i’ve been complaining a bit about my ‘anonymous’ job, so i thought i’d try something new and share what i like most about it. because my job is mostly field work, i get to meet all kinds of people. like last week, at a dinner, i met this lovely british man. he’s a journalist based in the philippines and he says he hasn’t lived in the u.k. for about twenty years.
he says he loves our tropical climate, and i said i hate it and would rather move to somewhere cold, like london. he said, “are you mad?”.
our conversation was so easy and comfortable, as though i was talking to an old friend. and it was really so. much. fun. this real live person was saying british things like “chap” and “bloody” and “ghastly”, and he was right in front of me. adorable.

oh gosh. as much as i hate the heat at times but i tell you i'm really happy that i am living in a tropical country. cold weather & i don't mix very well. i tell you! nothing is worst than freezing your butt off in below zero temp! it's terrible! true fashion wise it's cute but it's not fun at all!
