Have A Good Hair Day, Every Day
if like me, you are keen to have your hair looking its best at all times, then there are a few things to bear in mind. the truth is that hair is one of the most fundamental parts of how a person looks, and could very well make or break one’s confidence as a whole (i’m sure we’ve all had entire days ruined out of frustration with uncooperative or unruly hair!). with that in mind, you might be curious about some of the simpler approaches you can take to making your hair look – and feel – a lot better.
in this post, i’ll go through some of the easy ways to instantly make your hair look nicer and become healthier. as long as you are at least aware of these, you’re going to find that you are much more likely to enjoy your hair and feel beautiful in general, so on the whole it’s just a great thing to do for yourself. let’s take a look right now:
TRY HIGHLIGHTS
if you have lighter hair already, then this can be especially easy to do right, although it does work for pretty much any hair as well. in effect, highlights are a way of adding a few areas of lighter colored sections to your hair, and that can have significant effect almost instantly. in my experience, this can take some getting used to, but is so worth it in the end!
when going this route, it’s important to go to a reputable salon/colorist to ensure you will be in good hands throughout the process. you’ll also want to do some research ahead of time to see what will best suit your natural hair color, as well as your skin tone. highlights for blonde hair are a lot easier and more seamlessly done than on others; but of course, it will depend on your stylist’s skills as well.
NOURISH YOUR SCALP
people often forget this, but the scalp is a really important part of haircare in general. you need to make sure that you are taking good care of the scalp if you want to keep your hair looking healthy and amazing, and as it happens there are a few ways to make this a regular fixture in your routine – including some natural alternatives. one of them is to simply gently scrub your scalp with a homemade solution of olive oil and salt, with a little sugar mixed in. you might be surprised to hear that this actually makes a huge difference to your scalp, and it’s amazing how much it can help with making your hair shiny.
CUT BACK ON CONDITIONER
one mistake that a lot of people make is using too much conditioner when they wash their hair. i’ve certainly been guilty of this! many of us often think that conditioner is a daily must, or we simply use too much product every time, thinking that it will be more effective. in either case, it’s important to cut back on conditioner a little, so that you can effectively keep your hair relying on its own natural strength and bounce, rather than getting dependent on those products. this is something that a lot of people are not yet clued in to, but is a genuine thing that you should be aware of.
LEARN HOW TO BRUSH PROPERLY
it might sound strange to say that, but most people don’t really have proper technique for brushing hair. you might find that you just pass the brush through to detangle and that is good enough, but it can be so much more than that. if you just learn how to use your hairbrush more effectively it can make all the difference, like when using on either wet or dry hair. learning how to brush is one of those things that can quickly make your hair a lot shinier and healthier, so make sure to read up on proper techniques and also invest in a good quality hairbrush that is best suited to your needs.
DE-STRESS
finally, remember that stress impacts pretty much everything in your life, and the less of it you have, the better off you will be. if you find yourself stressing out a lot, you may notice changes in your hair’s appearance and overall health, too – most notably with hair loss. taking the time to purposefully de-stress is therefore one of the best things you can do for yourself, and it’s something that can be addressed in both big and small ways. de-stressing is sometimes easier said than done, and may require lifestyle changes or seeking professional help, but is always worth your while.
