In The Cracks Of Light
the rain has been pouring on and off for the better part of the last two weeks, so i finally accepted defeat and took these photos indoors. i picked this little corner in our room, which is a newly-added reading nook of sorts. it’s still tragically bare and could use lots of love (even just a cushion would be nice), but i haven’t gotten around to it yet. my mind is swimming with ideas though and hopefully very soon i can put them into action.
on days like these i just love cozying up at home, daydreaming about an idyllic life in the countryside, while also gushing over pretty things i find on the web. one surprising thing i’ve come to really love is browsing jewelry online and adding my favorites to an ever-growing wishlist (please tell me i’m not alone?). a current fascination i have are gold drop earrings — especially these beautiful, high-quality pieces crafted by ethical brand AUrate.
they are on the daintier side, which i find to be a lot more versatile, as far as this more dramatic style goes. they work perfectly well for both day and night, and every occasion in between. i can easily imagine wearing these on date nights and weddings, trips to the mall and holiday get-togethers. they’re just so fun.
anyway, on to these shoes:
they are the VIVAIA sierra loafers in natural brown and boy am i a big fan of these. i love a good loafer shoe anyway (they’re great at grounding unique dresses especially), but these are SO unique not only in design, but in materials used as well. this eco-friendly brand promotes sustainability by using recycled water bottles in every pair of footwear they make. it’s all pretty fascinating and you can read more about it here.
i got my normal size in these (it also ended up being the correct option according to their size chart) but they are a tad too big on me. my feet kinda move around in them, so i do feel a bit of chafing around the edges. for this reason i know these will require a small amount of breaking in. other than that, they feel soft and flexible, but not flimsy, and the soles are nice and cushiony. i definitely recommend contacting them if you’re conflicted on what size to get!
VIVAIA has so many other designs available on their site. i’m currently eyeing the STELLA heels and REGINA boots ’cause WOW, they are both so stunning.
