New Beauty Finds (A HUGE Collective Haul)
i have somehow managed to accumulate an overwhelming number of new make-up and beauty bits the past few weeks, so i thought i’d share them with you today. i mean, that’s what friends do, right? 😉
*** BeautyMNL ***
it was my first time to place an order on BeautyMNL, though i have been stalking their website for a good year or so. the whole shopping process was super easy and straightforward (i checked out using paypal but they offer a few other payment options) and i got my package in a couple of days (order placed saturday night, parcel received monday afternoon). i love the variety of products available on the site, from drugstore to high-end, with brands both local and global. plus you get free shipping for orders Php2,000 and up AND there are cool sample freebies with every purchase!
WHAT I GOT: maybelline micellar water and lash sensational mascara {waterproof}, clover collection brushes {tapered powder, flat duo fiber and bronzer}, made by david organics hand sanitizers {grapefruit & sage and orange & ginger}, seche clear crystal clear base coat + freebies (tresemme shampoo & conditioner samples and deluxe st. ives apricot scrub)
they also have a fun monthly contest called #selfieMNL, where you simply post a selfie and in turn get the chance to win a Printster polaroid of your pretty face + a Php200 BeautyMNL gift certificate! click here for complete details.
*** The Make-Up Bar Manila ***
you may have seen my instagram post a while ago featuring some of the drool-worthy goodies sold by the make-up bar manila. the shop is owned by my one of my dearest friends (it’s legit, y’all) and she brings in handpicked, authentic, hard-to-find cosmetic brands and sells them at the cheapest possible price.
WHAT I GOT: kylie cosmetics dolce K lip kit, colourpop matte X lippiestix in cami and chateau, colourpop frick n’ frack ultra satin lip, physicians formula super BB contour trio stick, glossier coconut balm dotcom
here are swatches of the lip products i got. my favorites are the colourpop lippies, as they all have stellar formulas and the colors stand out in my collection. i am seriously obsessed!
the kylie lip kit, on the other hand, is all right: i adore the colors of both the liner and liquid lipstick (plus the liner is honestly so creamy!), but i prefer the formulas of other brands i own and they offer better value for money. so i don’t necessarily think the kylie lippies are worth the steep price — but hey, to each their own. i am certainly happy to own the dolce k duo and i do use them quite a bit, especially when i go for a 90s lip look.
*** Shopee + MakeupYourMind Store ***
WHAT I GOT: NYC smooth skin loose face powder {translucent} via mjsche06, milani romantic rose powder blush via christineandcamille, elizavecca skin liar primer via mommamazingandking, wet n wild photofocus setting spray via starmaineshop, l’oreal infallible pro-matte foundation via MYM Store
a big chunk of my beauty purchases from the last year have been from shopee, and i seriously cannot recommend the shopping app enough. there are so many sellers on there that carry a huge variety of items (not just beauty, of course!) and a lot of them offer great deals as well. i typically spend hours checking every listing to see the best price i could get for a particular product, and this last batch i got were some of the lowest priced i’ve found (the elizavecca primer was actually at 70% off when i got it!). be wary of fake cosmetics though: some sellers are not so forthcoming with them, which is a damn shame.
i also made my first-ever purchase from makeup your mind store, a site that i have loved stalking for two years now. they’re a fabulous option for brands not available locally as well.
*** SEPHORA PH ***
WHAT I GOT: theBalm mary-lou manizer, sephora collection lip liner to go {deep aubergine} and fizzing cube {cherry blossom}
a beauty haul wouldn’t be quite complete without a few bits n bobs from sephora, no? i only got a few things this time as i didn’t have any need for more, but i knew i had to purchase theBalm’s cult fave mary-lou manizer. sephora had a site-wide sale for a few days and it was the perfect time to finally purchase the highlighter that i’ve pined for for years. the verdict? i freaking LOVE it.
