Behind Stars And Under Hills

a few weeks ago my aunt, who lives in the states, came to manila for a brief visit with her family. we spent quite a bit of time catching up and marvelling at the wonders around us (mostly at how swiftly time passes and how kids seem to grow up too fast), and before it was time for them to leave a few days ago, we had one final dinner together with our semi-complete, mini clan. in recent years i have come to realize that my immediate family is not as large as most others, making me wonder what i might’ve been missing out on in that regard. it’s only recently that we’ve had new additions (hello babies!) so it seems like we are only now starting to grow and spread out. still, they are the people with whom i grew up and they shaped who i am one way or another. nothing trumps that.
