Kebabers
i’d seen KEBABERS several times in several locations before actually being able to try it out at the nearby SM skygarden. i’ve always found their bright colors and quirky interiors cute and eye-catching, but it seriously made me doubt the quality of their food and, dare i say, ‘authenticity’ of the well-loved kebab.
finally i got a taste of a couple of their offerings…and already i am hooked (so is the boyf!). the unique twist on the kebab, for example (available in beef, chicken and fish — we tried the beef), is an oozing cheese center, aka the perfect match for the filipino palette. the first time i took i bite i remember thinking, i don’t know if i am eating a kebab or a cheese nugget, but i am loving it! the keema is also delish, what with an abundance of sweet/zingy onions and that signature middle eastern spice. we ate both dishes with generous dollops of kebabers’ spicy garlic sauce, and it was a true taste of heaven.
the menu still has loads more to offer, from shawarmas to rice toppings and some fried side dishes, all awaiting our discovery and eventual addiction. plus at those bang-for-your-buck prices, we’ll surely be back for more.
