Just As Well

50’s or 50’s-looking dresses come by quite rarely in our local market, making my obsession with them a rather frustrating dilemma. i frequently find myself lurking around foreign vintage blogs and online shops with envious eyes, constantly wishing i had access to estate sales, flea markets and thrift stores that provide an almost limitless supply of such lovely things from the past. occasionally though i do come across some pieces reminiscent of the stylish era, and it’s almost always a no brainer for me. i snatch it up (size and fit be damned) and feel like a million bucks every time i wear it. it’s nice to feel like betty draper for a day — if only unproperly coiffed and without a cigarette eternally glued to my hand.
