Guest Post: Kelly Goes To Venice
Hello guys! This is Kelly Medina of The Traveling Boots and I’m currently here on my friend’s blog The Capricious Club trying to be a travel blogger. Although the name of my blog is The Traveling Boots I know that I rarely blog about my travels because I know that I can’t give justice to it. I’ve been to a lot of places already but I can’t seem to share it to my readers unless I’m posting an OOTD. Since 2013 just started I think it’s just right to face my fears and try to make one hahaha! SO it goes a little something like this (HAHAHAHA! Parang mag-ra-rap lang eh!).
During the Holidays I was out of the country for vacation and I also got the chance to visit one of the best places in the world…Venice. It’s actually my first time to go to Europe and going there was such an unforgettable experience because I got to discover a lot of new stuff when it comes to culture, art, food and most especially fashion. Since I always do the style blogging on my blog let me share with you random stories about my recent trip.
Our first stop was Venice and from the airport I can already feel how different Venice is and it’s because of the means of transportation. I can’t believe that I didn’t do my research about the place and when I got there I was shocked when my sister said that they don’t use cars in Venice. The place is filled with water or “canals” and I was amazed by how Italians especially those living in Venice manage to do things without automobiles. So aside from the transportation, another thing that I noticed about the place are the structures. Everything looks so old and dirty yet whenever you take pictures it looks so photogenic. They really preserved their structures and with that everything just looks fantastic.
We stayed in Palazzio di Paruta and please since I’m not really a travel blogger don’t ask me rates and all because I really don’t know. I don’t even know the address of the hotel because when we got off from our station which is San Marco all we had to do was walk. We don’t know where our hotel is located, good thing we have GPS but it failed us HAHAHA. Imagine 3 adults plus 1 child walking around Venice with a stroller and 6 luggages — did I mention that they have stairs everywhere plus we were walking on cobblestones? I can’t believe that we survived that day. So let’s move forward to some sightseeing since I’ve shared too much information already. Our first stop was Piazza di San Marco and mind you as a fashion blogger I took the chance to have my outfit shots taken there because the place is divine! It’s like our very own Plaza Miranda without DVD Vendors and fortune tellers HAHAHA.
Next stop was the Rialto Bridge. Actually Rialto is a station before San Marco and it is also one of the best attractions in Venice. According to what I’ve heard
(if I’m not mistaken) there are some Hollywood movies that were shot on the Rialto Bridge. I know that this post is long already and I don’t want to bore you.
