Thinking Ahead

seasons change, fashion weeks come and go, and we common folk are left to view the latest fashion and be mesmerized by it all. whether online, in print, or through peers, our sources for the latest trends just never seem to run out.

more than keeping up-to-date with the current fashions, however, i find that many style-savvy folk like to keep abreast with trends of seasons yet to come. at the onset of winter, people imagine themselves happily basking in the summer sun, bronzed in their prettiest new bikini. and in the last few weeks of sweltering summer, the promise of autumn’s stinging breeze brings up longing thoughts of layers and scarves and chunky knits.

and so here i am, one dreary, rainy afternoon, thinking about what summer will be like in a few months and daydreaming about lounging around in beautiful neutral tones and breezy fabrics; enjoying an ice-cold strawberry daiquiri and gazing at my feet buried in the warm glistening sand.
