Pardon One’s Folly
photos by adelle
back when my thrift shopping obsession was just starting, i often found myself in disbelief at the wonderful things i would find on sale racks that no one else seemed to want. i would wonder how long they’ve been hanging there, how many eyes have seen them, how many hands have touched them… and seriously questioned my sanity for wanting things that no one else does.
these days, i don’t really get surprised anymore. i have come to accept the fact that people’s tastes vary greatly (as evidenced by the curious glances i give other shoppers when i see them clutching an item i could never see myself wearing) and you can never tell how people will respond to certain things you like. so instead of shaking my head in bewilderment as i try to answer this great mystery of life, i just give a small squeal of delight when i find something awesome — and thank the thrifting gods for loving me so.

You can really do magic with thrifted items. You can make them look glamorous and expensive. 🙂 I guess its a skill and I hope to acquire that kind of skill also. I love you Bestie!
