The Darkest Hour
i got invited to the 3D screening of THE DARKEST HOUR last night. it’s a good thing, too, because i had been curious about the movie since i’d been seeing the the trailer for a few months already.
the characters’ acting, admittedly, leaves much room for improvement…but i find them charming enough to get through the movie without gagging. haha. plus i quite liked the girls’ outfits! casual and rugged – but with hints of sparkle. just the kind of look one might wear to an apocalyptic alien invasion. or is that just me? :p
now, i am no film critic (nor do i dream of ever becoming one) and truthfully, i get easily amused by even the simplest of plots. so here is my verdict: THE DARKEST HOUR has enough tricks up its sleeve to keep you entertained and, actually, quite on edge. just ignore the occasional cheesy lines and you’ll be good. and when all else fails, you’ll at least be treated to the gorgeous moscow landscape, which i must say remains breath-taking even with explosions and other end-of-the-world special effects.
THE DARKEST HOUR is out in theaters now.
