When The Going Gets Tough
the girl in the 5-inch shoes runs away.
this is literally what i did when i covered the protest held by students at the commission on higher education. they were protesting tuition fee hikes in private and state universities.
i was able to record some of it on my digicam (i was taking pictures and then things suddenly…progressed). here is the part where they brought down the gate and ran towards the building.
things got really ugly when the students tried to get through the glass doors. they were driven away using fire extinguishers, then they retaliated with paint balloons. i wasn’t able to record that because, well, i was more worried about staying as far away as possible.
one of the perks of the job, i guess?

Wow this is crazy! Reminds me of the mad rush in France when the Sonia Rykiel line opened up at H&M 🙂 All joking aside, I think we've been having protests like that here in California over the budget cuts and fee hikes too, though I don't believe we used paint balloon or broke down gates.

Oh my goodness! That looks really intense. Higher education at such a large cost just doesn't seem right. I hope you were wearing flat shoes for running away.
